Forest Play programs with a twist!

Creative in Nature
Ages 4-8

This program is a special opportunity to deepen your little one’s creativity through child-led art rooted in nature. Each class follows a Nature Play structure connecting in story and play, with plenty of opportunities to get messy along the way.

What makes this offering unique is the way we gently guide children through art projects using natural loose parts and techniques that connect them to the plants and environment around them. This includes foraging and learning about local plants, noticing the textures and colours of trees, and drawing inspiration from nature in their creations.

Additionally, gentle breath work and aromatherapy are thoughtfully woven into our time together. Last fall, it was incredible to witness how grounded the group of littles became as they created art, played among the trees, and practiced deep breathing together.

The group is run by artist and community herbalist Cheyenne Jackson and holistic practitioner and certified aromatherapist Amy Bye.

Nature Girls

Ages 8-13

This program was created to address the decline of active play we often see in girls, starting in the pre-teen years. Mixed gender settings are wonderful, but there is something special that happens when pre-teen girls get the forest to themselves. Our goals are to support girls in building confidence and community during this transition period of development.

Your child can look forward to group games, team challenges, and the opportunity to build basic wilderness skills and knowledge. We always allow for plenty of time for play, recognizing kids this age still have a deep need for imagination and playfulness! This group is facilitated by an environmental educator and a teacher- both mothers to tween girls of their own!

*this group is open to anyone identifying as female*
