Why should your school do a nature play residency?
The links between play, the outdoors, and learning are abundant. We know that children learn best through play, and when they are in a regulated state. Nature is an incredibly powerful tool for providing playful opportunities while also regulating the brain and body. This is where Nature Play comes in! Our highly trained staff will provide teacher professional development touching on both the theory and practicalities of using outdoor play as a regulation and learning tool. The students will experience meaningful play experiences on school property or nearby nature, allowing them to build skills in creativity, problem-solving, communication, risk-assessment, nature-connection, and self-regulation. Teachers will observe directly how this type of play can impact student learning, relationships, behaviour, and overall wellness.
